Two PhD positions in High Energy Astrophysics

The High Energy Astrophysics group of the Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IAAT) at the University of Tübingen invites applications for two

PhD positions (duration: 3 years; starting date: Sep. 1st, 2024)

in the context of X-ray and gamma-ray studies of cosmic ray particles accelerators with a focus on eROSITA and INTEGRAL data analysis and modelling.

The work will be conducted in the high energy astrophysics group at IAAT. Applicants are required to have a master or equivalent university degree in physics or astronomy at the beginning of the contract. The positions are available starting September 1st, 2024, earlier or later starting dates can be negotiated. The salary is based upon the German federal public service scale (66% of E13 TV-L, according to funding conditions). The University seeks to raise the number of women in research and teaching and therefore urges qualified women to apply. Severely handicapped persons will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualification. The process of hiring the selected candidates is handled by the Central Administration of the University.
