AAS Committee on the Status of Women

This week's issues:
1. Apology
2. Women in the History of Science
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Apology
I apologize to Diana and the AAS office for my implication
that they had not supported the babysitting efforts at
meetings in the past. I did not mean to imply that. They
have ALWAYS given information on providers in the area and
subsidized the babysitting in San Diego. My point was that
the AAS office provided more support for this meeting; this
was the first time the AAS officially signed the contract
and accepted reservations and payment in advance. Having
appropriate facilities and child care providers does require
advance notice, and only ONE person signed up for this
service in Chicago.
