1. Female Journal Editors
From: Rob Kennicutt apjrck

In reference to the recent discussion in AASWOMEN led by
You-Hua Chu, we agree that there is an unfortunate but
temporary lack of women in Scientific Editor (SE) positions
for the Astrophysical Journal. This occurred when three of
our former SE's, Anne Cowley, Susan Kleinmann, and Virginia
Trimble stepped down before the expiration of their terms.
Now that the transition to a new ApJ Editor-in-Chief has
been completed earlier this year, we will be inititating a
recruitment for new SEs this fall. One of our highest
priorities is to actively recruit women to fill these
positions. Please stay tuned!
