HEADNEWS: THE ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER OF THE HIGH ENERGY ASTROPHYSICS DIVISION OF THE AAS

During the month of May, when typically the full HEAD Newsletter would be created, a vote was held to revise the HEAD bylaws to separate the joint Secretary/Treasurer position into separate positions, Secretary and Treasurer. The vote was strongly in favor, and the new bylaws took effect immediately at the end of May.

As part of this split, the last Secretary/Treasurer, Ann Hornschemeier, steped down and new, provisional, HEAD members were appointed to these positions. As of the January AAS, Randall Smith and Keith Arnaud became the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. In the midst of the transition, however, a full HEAD newsletter was not created. This note has been inserted to explain the circumstances.

HEADNEWS, the electronic newsletter of the High Energy Astrophysics Division of the American Astronomical Society, is issued twice yearly by the HEAD Secretary. The HEAD Executive Committee Members are:
