Items of Current Interest:

• The Eleventh HEAD meeting will be held on the Big Island of Hawaii March 1-4, 2010. The hotel deadline, late abstract deadline and early registration deadline are all January 25, 2010. Please visit our meetings webpage .
• Three new members were elected to the HEAD Executive Committee. Jack Hughes, Frits Paerels and Belinda Wilkes were elected to two-year terms (2010-2012) as members of the HEAD Executive Committee. Congratulations to all three! And thanks to retiring members Dale Frail, Dieter Hartmann and Angela Olinto.
• At the HEAD Business meeting during the January 2010 AAS meeting in Long Beach, the Vice Chair, Chryssa Kouveliotou, announced that the 2010 Bruno Rossi Prize is being awarded to Felix Aharonian, Werner Hofmann, Heinz Voelk and the H.E.S.S. collaboration for "their outstanding contributions to imaging TeV Astronomy, which addressed fundamental questions related to particle acceleration and the origin of the Cosmic Rays through the study of Supernova Remnants, Pulsar Wind Nebulae and nearby Active Galactic Nuclei." They will deliver their prize lecture at the January 2011 AAS meeting in Seattle, WA.
