HEAD Member - The High Energy Astrophysics Division is soliciting nominations for two separate opportunities: - The 2001 Rossi Prize and - Candidates for the HEAD Executive Committee. CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2001 BRUNO ROSSI PRIZE The Bruno Rossi Prize is awarded annually in honor of Bruno Rossi "for a significant contribution to High Energy Astrophysics, with particular emphasis on recent, original work." Any member of HEAD can make a nomination for the Rossi Prize. Letters of nomination should include a brief case for the nominee and a suggested citation. Multiple signatories or letters in support strengthen the case. The HEAD Executive Committee will choose the Rossi Prize winner. Duties include organizing Division meetings, selecting the Rossi Prize recipients, and (as the bylaws state) having "general charge of the affairs of the Division." Three Executive Committee Members will be elected this year to begin serving a two year term in January 2001. All members of the of the Division are invited to propose, via written or e-mail reply, candidates for Executive Committee Member. Any member of the Division proposed as a candidate for a post on the Committee by not fewer than ten (10) members of the Division shall be deemed to be nominated to the post, provided the nominee has stated a willingness to serve if elected.
