Attention: Dr. Richard McCray, Professor

Our department invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in "Astrophysical Origins" to begin August 2001. This search is intended to be broad, and open to individuals working in observational, theoretical, or instrumental astrophysics relevant to the origins of stars, stellar systems, and galaxies.

This faculty position will reside in the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences (APS) and will also be affiliated with one of our research institutes (JILA) or centers (CASA) depending on research interests. APS, JILA, and CASA offer a diverse set of resources for teaching and research, including access to theoretical, observational, and instrumental facilities. This position requires a commitment to teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs and the ability to develop and conduct an independent research program.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short description of research and teaching interests, and the names of three individuals willing to write recommendation letters. We will begin consideration of applicants on 15 January 2001 and continue to accept applications until the position is filled. Candidates should include their email addresses and those of their recommenders. The University of Colorado is committed to diversity and equality in education and employment. AAE/EOE.
