Attention: Michael Shull, Professor
We welcome applications from candidates in a wide range of areas. Theoretical candidates should have interests in studies of interstellar and intergalactic matter, quasar emission and absorption spectra, or galaxy formation at high redshift. Observational candidates will participate in the analysis and interpretation of intergalactic and interstellar data from the Hubble Space Telescope (low-redshift Lyman-alpha absorbers, probes of large-scale structure, associated galaxies) and the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (extragalactic D/H, QSO absorption lines, interstellar medium). Candidates are also encouraged to pursue their other research interests.
Our post-docs are appointed for a minimum of one year, normally renewable for up to three years. Applicants should send vita, bibliography, and description of research interests (with relevant preprints) by 15 January 2001 to Michael Shull at the above address. Please also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent. The University of Colorado is committed to diversity in education and employment. AAE/EOE.
