Attention: Anne Albinak, Ms.

Applications are being accepted for a PostDoctoral Research Position with Prof. Karl Glazebrook at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Astrophysical Sciences to work on new high-redshift spectroscopic surveys. The work will involve analysis of deep multi-color optical + IR imaging data, including development of photometric redshift techniques, with a view towards selection of complete high-redshift galaxy samples and subsequent spectroscopic observations on 4-8m class telescopes. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in astronomy or physics and have demonstrated scientific accomplishments. Previous experience in large extragalactic surveys is highly desirable. Applicants will be considered primarily at the Post Doctoral Associate level.

Appointments at other levels are possible, depending on background and experience. Appointees will have access to the Apache Point Observatory and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Applicants should send a resume and the names of three references to Ms. Anne Albinak at the above address as soon as possible, but not later than 28 February 2001. Start dates as early as 1 March 2001 or as late as September 2001 will be considered. The Johns Hopkins University encourages applications from women and minority candidates. AAE/EOE.
