The Department of Physics and Astronomy, and the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP) at the University of California, Los Angeles, are soliciting applications for a tenure-track position. The position is expected to be at the Assistant Professor level, but a higher level appointment could be considered. The area for this search is the theory of Origins of Solar Systems including, but not limited to, such topics as protostellar disks, jets, planetary dynamics and star formation.

Facilities available to the person appointed include the Keck Observatory, Lick Observatory, and the UCLA infrared laboratory. UCLA is also a member of NSF's Center for Adaptive Optics in Astronomy & Vision Science, NASA's Astrobiology Institute, and NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA).
