Facilities available to the person appointed include the Keck Observatory, Lick Observatory, and the UCLA infrared laboratory. UCLA is also a member of NSF's Center for Adaptive Optics in Astronomy & Vision Science, NASA's Astrobiology Institute, and NASA's Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA).
