Job Description

The Department of Astronomy (DoA) at Tsinghua University seeks to attract global talents in observational, instrumental and theoretical astronomy, including but not limited to areas of high-energy astrophysics, cosmology, time-domain astrophysics, star formation/stellar astrophysics and radio astronomy. The expected starting date is September 1, 2024.

Tsinghua University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in China, and is also highly ranked internationally. It is presently undergoing a major expansion in its astrophysics program.

The current research in the Department of Astronomy spans a wide range of topics, including cosmic reionization and 21cm cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution, circumgalactic/intergalactic medium, exoplanets and planet formation, compact objects, active galactic nuclei supernovae, and X-ray binaries. In addition, the faculty members are involved in developing instrumentation for X-ray satellite missions and ground-based facilities. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field. A complete application should include a CV, a list of publications, and a statement of previous and future research.
