The 207th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008. 

The Wardman is off Connecticut Avenue, near the National Zoo and accessible by the Metro's Red Line. 

The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is sold out. We have made arrangements with the Omni Shoreham Hotel to serve as our official overflow hotel. The nightly rate is $175.00 and must be booked within the AAS hotel block to receive the special rate. The Omni Shoreham is in walking distance (0.3 mi) of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

Importance of Staying in the Conference Hotels 

In order to book the DC meeting, the AAS had to contract for a blocks of sleeping rooms in the Wardman. If we do not fill these blocks, financial penalties will be incurred. This ultimately impacts the health of the AAS and consequently registration fees.

Childcare Grants 

$100 grants are available to defray childcare costs at the DC Meeting. The online application www.aas.org/forms/childcare/ must be submitted by 1 December. If requests exceed available funding, preference will be given to those in the early stages of their careers.

Driving Directions: Follow the signs to Interstate 66 east to Washington. Follow I-66 to the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (US Route 50). Take the Constitution Ave exit off of the bridge. Continue on Constitution for 6 blocks and make a left turn onto 17th Street. This will change to Connecticut Ave. Continue on Connecticut. Ave. for 1 mile. Cross over the William Taft Bridge. Make a left turn at the 3rd light after the bridge onto Woodley Ave. The hotel entrance is on the left.
