Housing Information 

The 208th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society will be held at both the Calgary Telus Convention Center (120 Ninth Ave. SE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2G OP3) and the Hyatt Regency (700 Centre Street SE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2G 5P6). 

Reservations for rooms in the Hyatt and the Marriott (110 Nine Avenue W, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2G 5A6) should be made through Tourism Calgary. 

Room rates (plus 4% Alberta Tourism Levy, 7% Federal Goods and Services Tax, and a 1% Destination Marketing Fee may also apply) are valid through 12 May 2006.

Importance of Staying in the Conference Hotels 

In order to book the Calgary meeting, the AAS had to contract for a blocks of sleeping rooms in two area hotels. If we do not fill these blocks, financial penalties will be incurred. This ultimately impacts the health of the AAS and consequently registration fees.

Childcare Grants 

$100 grants are available to defray childcare costs at the DC Meeting. The online application www.aas.org/forms/childcare/ must be submitted by 19 April. If requests exceed available funding, preference will be given to those in the early stages of their careers.
