HTML Block Schedule FAQ's
What is the HTMl Block Schedule?
The HTML Block Schedule for AAS meetings is a multi-page HTML version of the overall Block Schedule for the AAS meeting. Each session number is clickable and takes the viewer to a detailed listing of the contributions for each session. Each contribution can then be explored in detail, including author information and the full text abstract for the contribution. It is designed for interactive, online use. Links on the detail page also allow readers to add sessions or individual contributions to a customized itinerary, which is downloadable and printable. The details of this tool are explained elsewhere.
How is the HTML Block Schedule structured?
Across the top of the HTML Block Schedule page (or down the side) is a clickable list of the days of the meeting. By clicking on these, the user is taken to a detailed view of that day. The "Main Page" link, takes the user back to the main meeting page.
When initially accessing the HTML Block Schedule, the user is brought to the pre-meeting activities and information. Information on other days can be viewed by clicking on the day in question.
Each day is organized with time increasing downwards and sessions arrayed horizontally. Color codings are used to highlight particular types of session. The locations of each session are included in each block entry along with the session number and title.
By clicking on a session number, the user is brought to a detailed listing of the contributions for that session. Along with time and location information, each contribution title can be clicked to access the full text abstract. Each contribution has a small check box located next to it, which can be used in combination with the "Add Selected Presentations to My Itinerary" button to build a customized itinerary.
I can't find my friend's abstract. How do I do this?
Once you get to a detailed page for a session, a Search bar is available to search on any key word or author name. All matched contributions will appear in the search results page, which can then be used in the same way as the detailed view for a session to add contributions to the My Itinerary tool. Also available is an advanced search feature, a browse feature and a direct link to the My Itinerary tool.
Note: The session for the contribution appears in the rightmost column, and is clickable, taking the user to the detailed view for that session.
To get back to the HTML schedule view, the user must use their browser's back button, or renter the AAS Meeting Schedule web page.
Why is there no detailed information for the Town Hall Sessions?
Some sessions, like Town Halls, are not required to have abstracts in the online system, but often have abstracts in the BAAS, provided to each meeting attendee.
