The Job Center, at Winter Meetings only, is a designated area for employers and job seekers to meet. It is designated to facilitate informal interviews and our hope is that successful formal interviews will be the next step for everyone. The Job Center will be located in the Exhibit Hall or a separate room in the Convention Center. The location is advertised in the Meeting Program and signs are posted on site. Those looking for a job in astronomy or institutions looking for scientific employees should visit the Job Center. See the Job Register for a sample of the positions advertised at the Job Center. Employers: If you are planning to conduct interviews in Long Beach please send your name, institution, title of position and a brief description of the current opening to jobs@aas.org. Job Seekers: To participate, please submit your resume and cover sheet to jobs@aas.org by 15 December 2008. After this date, you may bring your resume with you to the Job Center at the Meeting. Job Register Requirements: If you have an open position in the Job Register and would like to interview at the Job Center, send your name, institution, job number and position for which you will be interviewing to jobs@aas.org and an AAS staff member will post your job during the Meeting. If you have a non-scientific or non-astronomy Job Register position, please bring a copy of the ad with you to the Job Center for posting. You must be registered for the Meeting to view and post jobs. |
