AAS INFORMATIONAL EMAIL 2006-05

Kevin B. Marvel, Deputy Executive Officer

Subject: Congressman Culberson (R-TX) Calls on Science
Community to Take Action

Congressman John Culberson of the 7th Congressional District
of Texas has appealed directly to all American Scientists
and Engineers to take action on behalf of the NASA science
budget.

In a letter to the American science community issued on
March 9, 2006, Congressman Culberson, a supporter of various
NASA science missions, has called upon all American
scientists and engineers to write to the chairs of the House
and Senate Appropriations Committees asking for a
restoration of the NASA science budget.  Such an increase is
called for in the PACE-Education act now moving through the
Senate with more than 50 co-sponsors and it is expected that
a similar bill will soon be introduced by Congressman
Boehlert, the chair of the House Science Committee.

A PDF of the letter can be accessed from the home page of
the AAS, or directly through this link:
