How to Submit MaterialSubmission of Articles:Items of general interest to be considered for publication in the AAS Newsletter should be sent to Crystal Tinch, Associate Editor at tinch@aas.org. Appropriate pictures and graphics are welcomed. If digital, images should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Also, black and white or color photos of any size will do. The deadline for submission of articles is approximately six weeks prior to the first of the publication month. Articles will be published and edited at the discretion of the Editor.
Calendar Section:Meetings of interest to astronomers are listed but, as space is limited, the AAS Newsletter generally only publishes notice of meetings.
Meetings that fall within 30 days of publication are not listed. A complete list of international astronomy meetings is maintained at http://cadcwww.hia.nrc.ca/meetings/. Letters to the Editor:Letters on current issues of importance to astronomers are welcomed. Letters must be signed and should not exceed 250 words. The deadline for submission of letters to the Editor is published in each AAS Newsletter and is approximately seven weeks before the first of the publication month. Letters must be sent to Jeff Linsky, Associate Editor, Letters, jlinksy@jila.colorado.eduphone 303-492-7838, or FAX 303-492-5235. The Associate Editor may edit letters, but will consult with authors before doing so. Letters will be published at the discretion of the Editors. Newsletter OnLine:Some Newsletter back-issues are available in PDF. Since the AAS Newsletter is distributed as a benefit of membership in the AAS, current issues will not be posted. |
