1. Note to subscribers of AASWomen
From AASWomen editors
We will be moving the AASWomen listserv from STScI
to the AAS very shortly. Current subscribers will
not need to make any changes as the old list will be
moved over. Expect a few tests in the next few weeks
while we get it up and running. More information to
follow.

2. M. Hildred Blewett Scholarship for Women in Physics

Applications for the American Physical Society’s M. Hildred
Blewett Scholarship for Women in Physics are due July 1, 2005.
Information on the scholarship and how to apply is available at
http://www.aps.org/educ/cswp/blewett/index.cfm .
This scholarship has been has been established to enable women
to return to physics research careers after having had to
interrupt those careers for family reasons. The scholarship
consists of an award of up to $45,000. Allowed expenses
include dependent care, salary, travel, equipment, tuition
and fees. Selection will be made by a sub-committee of the
APS Committee on the Status of Women in Physics. Announcement
of the award is expected to be made by September 1.
The scholarship is made possible by a generous bequest to the
American Physical Society from M. Hildred Blewett, a particle
physicist who died in June 2004. Please contact Sue Otwell at
blewett@aps.org in the APS office for more information.
