Job Description
The Department of Physics at the University of Warwick is one of the UK’s leading Physics Departments and has an outstanding reputation in both teaching and research. Four years ago, we started a Physics and Astrophysics degree pathway which has proven extremely popular with well-qualified students. We seek to appoint a full-time permanent Teaching Fellow primarily in support of this pathway.
The Teaching Fellow will be part of the diverse Astronomy & Astrophysics group and should expect a significant teaching load that includes delivering lectures, exam setting and marking, laboratory supervision and management (including our campus observatory), project supervision and small group tutorials. In addition, the Fellow may expect to be involved in outreach activities within the Department. Approximately 30% of their time will be available for the fellow to pursue their own interests and activities, within the remit of physics and astronomy and connecting with the interests of the Astronomy & Astrophysics group.
The post holder will be an excellent communicator capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will possess excellent planning and time management skills to ensure your teaching and project objectives are achieved effectively. The Fellow is expected to hold a PhD in a Physics-related discipline and have relevant teaching and research experience.
