53rd Annual DDA Meeting
Registration
Our conference venue has a 100-person capacity, which the venue must enforce. So far, the number of requests for in-person talks (and thus in-person registrations) has exceeded our expectations based on normal DDA attendance and the uncertainties imposed by COVID, and is projected to be beyond the number that the venue will be able to safely support. As a result, we will only be able to have only a limited number of in-person attendees. Because of this, we have temporarily paused in-person registration while we sort submitted abstracts. If your abstract has been accepted for an in-person talk or poster, you will be contacted to register for in-person attendance. Otherwise, please feel free to register for our virtual options without any restrictions.
Virtual Registration for DDA 53
Registration Deadlines:
- Tue, 22 March: Last day to register. No Onsite Registration!
Registration Fees:
This year's DDA meeting is being generously supported by the Simons Foundation. In addition to hosting the meeting and providing the welcome reception and coffee breaks, the Flatiron Institute will provide lunch each day of the meeting. Since, for this meeting, the costs to the DDA are the same for in-person and virtual attendees, registration rates are the same in both categories. Part of the regular registration will go toward broadening access to the meeting through supplemental travel grants: https://dda.aas.org/awards/travelgrants.
We plan for most talks to be in person, but in order to provide access for some who would not otherwise be able to attend, we aim to provide for ~20% of presentations to be given virtually (live) via Zoom. Please make sure that your abstract submission and registration choices are for the same category (virtual vs in-person).
In addition to their speaking slot, virtual presenters will have access to the slack channel and the zoom link to attend all presentations virtually.
This year, we are also introducing a new virtual observer option to allow wider access to the meeting. Virtual observers will have access to the Slack channel, and will be able to watch all the talks and ask questions over Zoom (without giving a presentation).
