What Your Support Means to the AAS

Because of the support of the community formed around the Society, the AAS is able to organize the largest astronomical meetings in the world, publish preeminent research journals for the discipline, and advocate for the astronomical sciences on Capitol Hill. The six Divisions of the Society are also able to offer a variety of services to professionals in astronomy because of your support.

As the year comes to a close, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the AAS. Contributions are used to recognize extraordinary service, honor outstanding research, and celebrate student achievement. Your membership and voluntary donations make all of this possible.

Donations of any amount are appreciated, and your contribution can be directed to the Division, fund, prize, program, or activity that is most important to you. You can also contribute to the AAS General Fund, which is used to support the areas in greatest need.

The AAS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation as all donations by US taxpayers are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Contribute online by visiting members.aas.org, logging in to your account, then clicking "Donate Now" in the navigation bar.

Have a wonderful New Year, and thank you for your support!
